#1- How did I Become A Book Blogger? And why? Books have been a predominant aspect of my life ever since I was eleven. My love of literature even inspired me to become an English major and pursue my dream of being a writer. I think this story choice is centered on how I took to growing up in high school pretty isolated from those around me- the only company I ever had was my books. It's ironic that I even read because as a child I never liked reading. During my cancer treatment as a young adolescent, I found that books were able to transport me to another way of life. During my senior year of high school, I discovered the online digital book community of #bookstagram on Instagram. From there the rest is history! I started blogging on Instagram about my favorite books and connected to people around me who shared the same interest.

A photograph of me earlier this week. I loved the spring time and I felt it was a very nostalgic picture.

#2 - My health journey after being diagnosed with cancer. I think one of the major stories in my life has always been about my health. I was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was eleven years old. I had just moved to Georgia and knew no one. It was a really difficult transition for me once I completed treatment. The doctors basically told me I had to figure out everything on my own. The post-cancer treatment I received was sub-par because the doctors didn't think I need anymore help, and all they told me was to lose weight. The reality is that cancer patients struggle with their health for the rest of their lives after chemotherapy. My story would be described how I've dealt with the side-effects & efforts I took to take care of myself.

#3- My passion for makeup. Makeup has always gotten a terrible rap for being used for women to cover their insecurities but I don't believe that. I think the makeup community is a fun place where people can express themselves no matter what. I love to recreate book covers on my face for my YouTube channel. I found that makeup helped me gain confidence as a young woman who didn't necessarily feel feminine after chemotherapy.

#4- Entering into the legal field. I've always prided myself on being a creative writer. I thought that I would always have a straight forward path to whom I was supposed to be. It wasn't until my senior year of college where I was introduced to the legal field. Law school was not a goal I ever considered for myself but I over the course of this year I began to love my work. I like this story because it's so different from the creative aspects of myself, and I get to help other people while I do it!

#5- Advocating for mental health. This particular part of my life has always been very open; mental health is a topic I share with the world. Cancer survivors are left without a lack of emotional stability and support. 90% of childhood cancer patients and their families suffering from PTSD, depression, or other anxiety disorders. I think talking about this side of myself to be helpful to those struggling in silence. I think it would provide people with hope and reassurance that they're not alone in what they're feeling.
